Vietnam - Seeing is believing

After the '68 Nam War, the country quickly dusted off the war stigma, and became a vibrant economy. During the war time the country had gotten a lot of publicity as a huge jungle, later, the jungle would be demined and became a major adventure destination.
The following are the most popular adventure destinations in the country.
1. Halong Bay
This is a UNESCO listed tourist destination that is on very many occasions listed as the top tourist attraction. Its name is literally translated as “where the dragon descends into the sea.” Here you can paddle a kayak, sleep in a tent, fish in the sea, snorkel as well as ride a boat to the very many small islands.
The Bach Ma Mountain is located about 16 miles from the coast in the Bach Ma National Park. It is very dense and steep, with the highest point being 150 meters above the sea level. It makes a good day's trek destination.
This is located near the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Border. It is off the beaten path and is the best place to sample some Vietnamese culture, including their cuisines.
4. Dalat
Dalat is part of the Western Central Highlands, but it gets a special mention in this blog because it boasts high concentration of tiny minority villages that will open you to the other side of the Vietnamese culture. Beware; there are some villages that are off-limits to tourists. Look for signs with letter 'C'.
5. Mekong Delta
Also known as the Vietnam Rice Belt, Mekong Delta is comprises of huge paddy fields that have elaborate canal systems which flow into the longest river in Asia - The Mekong River. Here, you can hire a boat and a guide to navigate you through the rural life of the Vietnamese.
If you are yet to visit Vietnam, make haste. The destination is becoming more expensive by the day. Besides, Vietnam will take you out of your Western-style comfort zone and take you into the heart of Asian jungle lifestyle.
