Should I travel to Cairo, Egypt Now?

Should I travel to Cairo in Egypt now? Yes you should. The country struggles to revive its tourism industry. The Arab Spring uprising took its toll on the economy. Trust me; you are likely to enjoy the Egyptian sites for about 50% its pre-Arab spring rate. Besides the cost, below are more reasons you should travel to Cairo.
1. It is home to numerous tourist attractions
Just to highlight a few, the following are some of the attractions you will be missing if you don't go to Cairo;
- Egyptian Museum - Located at Tahrir Square, Meret Basha, Qasr an Nile, Cairo Governorate 11516, Egypt
- Giza Necropolis - Located in the Giza plateau on the outskirts of Egypt
- Khan el-Khalili - A major bazaar in the heart of Cairo. You can buy anything that comes from Middle East here.
- Pyramid of Djoser - the architect of this pyramid is Imhotep. It was opened in 2648 BC to bury Pharaoh Djoser. It is located northwest of the City of Memphis
- Mosque of Muhamad Ali - Located in the citadel of Cairo, it was opened in 1848
- Al-Azhar Park - Wjoever said that nothing grows in the desert needs to have a look at this park. It is located at Salah Salem Street, El-Darb El-Ahmar, Cairo Governorate, Egypt
- Other attractions include; Islamic Cairo Mosque of Ibn Tulun, the Hanging Church, Coptic Museum etc.
- 2. History
Egypt was formerly a major power. It accumulated a lot of wealth from conquering what was then known as Mesopotamia. It also had developed a writing style called Hieroglyph. You will therefore find lots of world history in Cairo museums.
3. It is gateway to Middle East
If you want to conquer Middle East and North Africa, perhaps you should visit Cairo first. The society here is more accommodating. You don’t have to worry about your clothing or what you say in public. You will learn a lot about Islamic culture. This will help you in venturing into other Islamic countries. Apart from maybe Malaysia, Egypt is the freest Islamic country.
4. You can explore natural Egyptian natural wonders from Cairo
Some of the most remarkable geographical features in the country include; the River Nile (Iongest river in the world), Sahara Desert (largest desert in the world), the Red Sea (most famous sea in the world), and the Mediterranean Sea (most important shipping lane in the world). Tell me you don't want to explore these great natural wonders.
So you see, visiting Cairo is not even an option. You should visit it like yesterday. There is so much to gain by visiting.
